Keshava Rajagopal graduated magna cum laude with a degree in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. He earned his medical degree, with honors, and doctorate degree in immunology from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Illinois. He then completed his residency in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, where he also completed a postdoctoral cardiovascular research fellowship. Board certified in thoracic surgery, Dr. Rajagopal specializes in cardiothoracic surgery.

His clinical interests include coronary artery surgery, surgery for valvular heart disease, surgical therapies for end-stage heart disease such as heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support, surgical therapies for end-stage lung and pulmonary vascular disease such as lung transplantation, pulmonary thromboendarterectomy and thromboembolectomy. Rajagopal provides personalized cardiac surgical care to patients 18 years and older. His goal is to achieve the best outcomes and provide cardiac surgical care of the highest quality and innovativeness to each patient. He strives to ensure that his patients and their families have access to him and his colleagues at all times. A resident of Sugar Land, Dr. Rajagopal and his wife, who is a pediatrician, have three children.
