May 20, 2011  I used to run HDLoader straight from a DVD - this looks like something similar - PS2 Loader? My PS2 isn't chipped so I will have to investigate. Is PS2 Loader better than HDLoader and USBExtreme - I guess it's free so that's a start! PS2 Loader 0.6 Compatible: The only issue is when you are switching to NTSC. I've seen quite a few threads asking about what you need to play games from the HDD, so I've decided to compile a tutorial for anyone who has question about this. Welly my transfer rate was pretty sow also.but i dont usb 2 so that migh be the case anyhow i am still having an issue here. Please help me. If you're only using your PS2 to play games off HDD, can you leave the HDAdvance disc in your PS2 indefinitely? I don't see any reason why you'd need to remove the disc, save perhaps trying to run other homebrew apps. Will this be a problem for the system?

Also, does it put that much strain on the PS2 laser to read HDadvance. I would think the burden is far less than playing any store bought PS2 game. Further question, would I need to remove the disc if I wanted to play some of my games online? I have the following PS2 hardware: -SCPH-50004 Unit -Matrix Infinity Mod -LAN/Harddisk adapter (LAN only). -Memor32 memory card -80 GB Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 IDE And I downloaded the latest HDLoader 0.8C, put it in a directory called BOOT on my Memor32 memory card (through Memor32 Save Game Manager), so I could start in DEV1 mode (R2). Now I want to load games from my 80 GB harddisk, so I formatted the disk (Full) on my old system, which as an IDE interface using Windows HDL Image Install Program 1.7.6 (winhiip).

Also, when I formatted the disk I found a note on a site: “When formatting a drive for HDLoader it is quite acceptable to reduce all the partition sizes to 0Mb, except the '__mbr' & 'HDLoader Settings' partitions, as these are not required for HDLoader to work correctly.” And so, I did only give 128 MB of partition to __boot. After formatting the disk I added 3 ISO game files and also used the correct Mode for them. Now when I load up HDLoader with the R2 button (DEV1) it loads correctly and I choose my game that I want to start. After that I only see a black screen, which is called I think Black Screen of Death. I’ve check the harddisk and it is absolutely error free (no bad sectors) and has a good S.M.A.R.T status (no errors). Also, I checked the disk using HDDChecker on my PS2 and no error’s and also good S.M.A.R.T status (OK).
